Ondo Horror: Suspected Yahoo Boy in Custody for Alleged Killing, Concealing Victim’s Body
Sesan Bakara, a 25-year-old suspected internet fraudster, commonly known as a Yahoo boy, has been arrested in Ondo State for the alleged ritual killing of a female tenant. The victim’s remains were discovered concealed in a ‘Ghana Must Go’ bag inside an uncompleted building in Ore.
The arrest took place at the divisional police command in Ore, Odigbo LGA, where Mr Bakara is currently being held and interrogated by detectives. The chilling discovery was made after the victim had been declared missing for several days, prompting a search that ultimately led to the grim find in the adjacent uncompleted building.
A concerned neighbor, speaking anonymously, confirmed the incident, revealing that the victim’s disappearance had raised suspicions among co-tenants. The neighbor stated, “She (the victim) had earlier been declared missing for some days, and a search party was put in place until her remains were found inside a bag at the building adjacent to the compound.”
Tensions escalated as aggrieved youths, reacting to the discovery, set fire to the house belonging to Mr Bakara’s father before police intervention. The suspect, identified as the landlord’s son, was promptly handed over to the authorities by the infuriated co-tenants.
In a brief interview, the state police spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the arrest, stating, “The boy was suspected in the murder case because a sister to the victim had claimed they saw blood stains on his foot during the process of looking for the lady. Our men in Ore have arrested the boy, and he will be transferred to the headquarters here in Akure for further investigation.” The investigation continues as authorities work to unravel the details surrounding this disturbing incident.
