Residents of Kajola in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State are in shock following the alleged murder of 28-year-old Ifeanyi Otu by a suspected drug lord, Eze Amadi, also known as “Lecturer.” The victim was reportedly tortured to death before his body was concealed inside a water drum under the cover of night.
According to reports, the suspect attempted to transport the corpse on a motorcycle but was intercepted by residents, sparking outrage and tension across the community. The incident took place on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Adeyalo Street, Kajola, leaving the area gripped with fear.
Residents described the tragedy as horrifying. “Nobody knows what transpired between them, but we do hear a crying person every night when being tortured,” one community member said.
The victim’s father, Mr. Michael Agwu Otu, expressed deep grief over the loss. “I was at home that fateful day when I received a call that my son’s body, wrapped with foam, had been discovered inside a water drum. When I got to the scene, I saw him lying lifeless after the drum was cut open. I was also told the suspect was caught while trying to transport his body on a motorcycle. The entire community was furious and demanded his arrest,” he said.
Gideon Akinsuroju, the community youth leader, confirmed that Amadi and two accomplices had been apprehended by the police. “This is a disturbing incident that has left everyone in shock. We urge the police to ensure justice is served and the culprits face the full wrath of the law,” he added.
