A 20-year-old man named Ridwan has been apprehended by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, for the alleged ritual murder of his own father.
According to a statement released by the Office of the State Commander of the Corps, Soji Ganzallo, through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, the tragic event unfolded on Thursday, August 31, 2023, around 12:00hrs in Oshoku Village, Ijebu North Local Government Area.
So-Safe Corps officers, conducting a routine patrol, were alerted by a strange noise emanating from a building in the area. Upon investigating, they made a horrifying discovery – the lifeless body of a man, identified as Ishau, drenched in his own blood. The alleged killer had already fled the scene.
State Commander Soji Ganzallo swiftly directed the Zonal Commander, Ijebu Zonal Command, ACC Marcus Ayankoya, to apprehend the suspected killer within 24 hours. Ridwan was eventually found hiding in a nearby bush.
In a shocking confession, Ridwan admitted to using a rope to strangle his father and a knife to remove specific body parts, as per the instructions of a ritualist he identified as “Baba Kekere.” The body parts removed included the victim’s private part, larynx, and four teeth.
However, when pressed about the whereabouts of the ritualist, Ridwan remained tight-lipped, refusing to provide any details.
State Commander Ganzallo has confirmed that the alleged killer has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Ogbere Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
This disturbing incident has left the community in a state of shock and disbelief as authorities work diligently to uncover the full details surrounding this gruesome crime.
