Dr. Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, conveyed this appointment in a press release on Friday. Okpalaezeukwu’s selection was based on his exemplary character and qualities.

A statement from Mazi Chika Art Adiele, National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing, emphasized a commitment to end the disruptive “Sit at Home” protests in the South East of Nigeria. They expressed concern over the insecurity and economic disruptions in Igbo land.
The Acting National Youth Leader praised the efforts of the South East Governors, particularly Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, in addressing these challenges. He vowed to work tirelessly until peace and security are restored not only in the South East but also across Nigeria.
The statement also commended Chief Iwuanyanwu’s impactful initiatives in various sectors since assuming office as the President General. These include advocating for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, building relationships with Ohanaeze Governors and Igbo business leaders, and fostering ties with the Igbo diaspora.
Furthermore, the Youth Wing recognized Chief Iwuanyanwu’s dedication to reinvigorating the Women Wing of Ohanaeze, among other accomplishments. Despite being in office for less than four months, Chief Iwuanyanwu has held numerous meetings with the NEC of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, earning him a vote of confidence from the Youth Wing.
