“Not Every Miracle of God Must Make Sense to You” — Apostle Suleman Defends Pastor Chris’ Healing Video

Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, has responded to the controversy surrounding a viral video showing Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy leading a mass healing session.

The video, taken from Day 2 of the Healing Streams Live Healing Services held on 15 March 2025, recently resurfaced online. It shows Pastor Chris praying for and commanding healing over 10 individuals on stretchers, said to be watching from different parts of the world, including South Sudan, Iran, and the United Kingdom.

In the clip, Pastor Chris tells viewers that the “Spirit of God” is touching them and restoring their bodies, before instructing those unable to move due to pain or paralysis to rise in the name of Jesus Christ. The moment is met with loud celebration as the individuals respond.

The footage, drawn from a healing service that lasted more than six hours, has generated intense debate on social media, with critics questioning the authenticity of the miracles.

Reacting to the criticism, Apostle Suleman described the healings as genuine and defended Pastor Chris’ ministry, noting that it has long been associated with what he called “signs and wonders.”

According to him, Christian faith is not grounded in logic or human reasoning. He argued that if salvation itself — including the idea that criminals can be redeemed through faith in Jesus — defies common sense, then miracles should not be expected to conform to rational explanations.

“Our faith does not make sense by human standards,” Suleman said. “So how do you expect our manifestations to make sense?”

He added that attempting to persuade skeptics about miracles is often futile, insisting that belief is a matter of personal experience rather than argument. Citing 2 Corinthians 4:4, he said conviction comes from the Holy Spirit, not debate.

“You cannot convince anyone about a miracle unless it happens to them,” he said, advising believers to respond to skepticism with prayer rather than confrontation.

Apostle Suleman also criticised calls for pastors to prove their divine calling by performing miracles in hospitals. He argued that such demands are rooted in unbelief and misunderstand how miracles occur.

Drawing a biblical comparison, he referenced John chapter 7, where Jesus’ own brothers challenged Him to publicly display His power. According to Suleman, Scripture shows that Jesus was unable to perform many miracles in places where people did not believe.

“We are not here to display,” he said, adding that miracles do not operate in an atmosphere of doubt.
