“No Matter the Pressure, We Will Not Waver” – EFCC Chair Vows to Pursue Prosecution of Former Governor Yahaya Bello
In a firm declaration, Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), committed to pursuing the prosecution of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, despite recent attempts to obstruct his arrest. During a press briefing at the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, Olukoyede assured journalists that his team is resolute in their fight against corruption and will not be deterred by external pressures.
Olukoyede also vowed to hold accountable those who attempted to impede the arrest of the former governor. He highlighted the importance of public support for the EFCC’s efforts, stating that a failure to address corruption could have serious consequences for the nation.
The anti-graft chief’s words reflect the EFCC’s ongoing commitment to sanitizing the country’s political and financial systems. With the probe into Yahaya Bello’s activities ongoing, Olukoyede’s strong stance sends a clear message that the agency is unwavering in its pursuit of justice.
