Nigerian Police Inspector Arrested for Drugging, Sexually Assaulting 14-Year-Old Boy
A police inspector in Borno State, Nigeria, has been arrested for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy inside the Police College Barracks in Maiduguri. The officer, identified as Musa Isah, is attached to the 74 Police Mobile Force in Damboa and serves as the Inspector Admin.
The incident reportedly took place last Friday at Isah’s residence in Block 42 of the barracks. According to sources, neighbors were alerted by the boy’s screams and forced their way into the apartment, catching the inspector in the act. He was immediately taken to the Metro Divisional Police headquarters, where he is currently in detention.
A police source revealed that Isah lured the boy to his residence under false pretenses and gave him a drink that made him weak before assaulting him. Further investigations suggest this is not his first offense. In 2022, he was allegedly caught in a similar act at Mopol 6 Barracks in Maiduguri by the victim’s family. At the time, he was reportedly beaten but avoided prosecution, possibly by compensating the family financially. Following that incident, he was transferred to Damboa but later returned to Maiduguri, where he continued targeting young boys in the barracks, using money, smartphones, and designer clothes to lure them.
Despite his detention, sources claim Isah remains confident he will evade punishment, allegedly boasting about his connections within the police force. Efforts to reach the Borno State police spokesperson, Nahum Daso, for comments were unsuccessful.
This arrest comes amid a wider crackdown on sexual misconduct within Nigeria’s security forces. Last month, a Nigerian Army lieutenant was reportedly detained for engaging in forced homosexual acts with junior colleagues in Borno State. The officer is under investigation by the 7th Division military police.
