Ned Nwoko Speaks on Allegations of Taking Another Wife Amid Viral Photo

Senator Ned Nwoko has addressed circulating rumors claiming he has taken another wife, dismissing the reports as false and misleading. The Delta North lawmaker clarified that a viral video showing him with a young woman has been wrongly interpreted and spread across social media with malicious intent.

In a statement posted on his official Instagram page, Nwoko explained that the woman featured in the video was part of a delegation from the Peace Ambassadors initiative, led by Ambassador Dr. Adejo Sule, who paid him a courtesy visit. He emphasized that the meeting was purely official and that photos and videos from the visit were being misrepresented by those seeking attention online.

“A video recently brought to my attention shows a young woman who visited with her team under the Peace Ambassadors initiative, and it is now being circulated online with false claims attempting to affiliate me with her. It is unfortunate what social media has become — a space where moments are easily twisted for clout and misinformation,” Nwoko said.

He noted that taking photographs with guests or members of the public is a common practice and should not be misconstrued. “During the visit, photographs were taken with members of the delegation, as is customary whenever I receive guests. This is not unusual; even in public places or outdoor events, people often request to take pictures with me, and I oblige. It is therefore mischievous and malicious for anyone to exploit such gestures to fabricate false narratives,” he added.

The senator also issued a stern warning to those spreading the false story, urging them to desist or face legal consequences. He cited the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act of 2015, noting that it remains in force and applies to anyone involved in spreading defamatory or false information online.

Nwoko’s statement comes amid ongoing social media discussions surrounding his marriage to actress Regina Daniels, with speculation fueled by the viral video. He, however, reaffirmed that there is no personal relationship between him and the woman in question, describing the rumors as baseless attempts to cause unnecessary controversy.
