NCC Partners with Nokia to Train Nigerian Youths in 4G/5G Technologies
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has inked a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nokia Solutions and Networks Nigeria, aiming to train young Nigerians in cutting-edge 4G/5G radio and transmission technologies.
Under the leadership of Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of NCC, the MoU was formally signed earlier this week in the presence of Dr. Bosun Tijanni, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy. As part of the agreement, Nokia Nigeria will establish a state-of-the-art 5G/4G test lab within the Nigerian Communications Commission’s Digital Parks, leveraging its latest radio and transmission technologies.
This collaboration is a significant step towards advancing the vision of enhancing the capacity and skill set of Nigerians in response to the rapidly evolving telecommunications landscape. The initiative aligns closely with the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy’s objective of promoting digital literacy and fostering a robust pipeline of technical talents across Nigeria.
Additionally, Nokia Nigeria will introduce an Entrepreneur Learning Programme designed to provide high-quality vocational training to 200 Nigerian students selected from various States across the nation’s six geopolitical zones. This initiative underscores the commitment to not only equip young Nigerians with contemporary skills but also to nurture entrepreneurship and innovation within the telecommunications sector.
