Man Threatens Ooni: ‘Admit I’m Your Son or I’ll Expose More Secrets’ – Gives Two-Month Ultimatum

A viral video has emerged featuring a middle-aged man who claims to be the son of Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife.

In the video, the unidentified man alleges that the monarch concealed his existence along with his mother, instructing them to remain undisclosed. Dressed in traditional attire, the man asserted in Yoruba, “Oba Enitan Ogunwusi is my father. He hid me with my mother with a clear instruction that I must not reveal myself.”

However, the palace swiftly dismissed these assertions, labeling the man an impostor.

Undeterred, the self-proclaimed son of the monarch insisted that the Ooni’s silence on his royal lineage prompted his public declaration. “Anytime I desire to come to the palace, he (Ooni) would stop me saying it was not yet time. Now is the time. My mum might not talk, but I will say the truth. The king is my biological father,” he maintained.

Despite acknowledging a comfortable lifestyle provided by the alleged father, the man expressed a desire for official recognition, stating, “Though I’m not suffering; there is a house, cars are there, there is money, but I’m no longer interested in them. I want to be known as the son of the king, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.”

He then issued a stern ultimatum, demanding an invitation to the palace within two months, failing which he threatened to divulge further undisclosed information.

Responding to the video, Moses Olafare, the spokesman for the Ooni, assured that the matter had been reported to security agencies for appropriate action. Olafare affirmed that the Ooni acknowledges all his children and would uphold his responsibilities as a father.

Denouncing the claimant as an imposter, Olafare emphasized that the individual has no ties to the royal lineage of the Ogunwusi family or the Giesi Royal Compound of Ile-Ife.

He urged the individual to desist from deceptive practices, underscoring the commitment of the House of Oduduwa to safeguarding the cultural heritage of the Yoruba people against fraudulent exploitation.
