JUST IN: President Tinubu Appoints New NCC Chairman
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Idris Olorunnimbe as the new chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
Olorunnimbe, the founder of The Temple, takes on this significant role just months after his appointment as board chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) was withdrawn. He was originally appointed to UBEC in March but was replaced in July by Tanko Umaru Al-Makura, the former governor of Nasarawa State.
A statement released on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, confirmed the appointment. The statement also noted that Aminu Waida has been retained as the executive vice chairman and chief executive officer of the NCC.
