The city of Calabar, Cross River State, has become a hotspot for an unusual and disturbing crime wave, as male private part thieves allegedly struck again, this time targeting a naval officer within the Nigerian Navy Barracks, Akim.
The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was reportedly stationed at the entry point of the barracks when the incident unfolded. According to witnesses, a young man identified as Samuel entered the barracks and was directed to the sentry point for routine security checks.
As Samuel engaged in conversation with the sentry officer, an unsettling event occurred. An eyewitness, identified only as Azeez, a fellow naval personnel, described the surreal incident, stating, “When he got to the sentry point, he was asked whom he was looking for and his mission in the barracks, but while he was talking with the sentry officer, the man felt ‘an electric jolt around his genitals,’ and behold, when he touched the area, his private part had vanished.”
In a panic, the naval officer raised the alarm, drawing attention to the bizarre theft. Swiftly, those present at the scene accosted Samuel, and he faced not only questioning but also physical confrontation, with demands for the immediate return of the stolen genital.
The alleged perpetrator of this strange crime neither confirmed nor denied responsibility for the missing organ, leaving everyone puzzled about the motive behind this disturbing act.
Local authorities and naval officials are now investigating this peculiar incident, as the residents of Calabar grapple with the growing wave of such incidents that have plagued the city for the past three weeks. The motive behind these private part thefts remains unclear, and the community is eager for answers in this unsettling case.
