The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Dr. Sam Amadi has advised president Muhammadu Buhari to be vigilant as ministers and aides may want to steal the country dry.
Amadi’s reaction followed the disclosure by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Abubakar Sirika that he procured 10 firefighting trucks at the cost of N12b.
“Just commissioned 10 Firefighting trucks, total cost of over 12Bn Naira. More to come in due course. Safety has been the Buhari focus in Aviation, since 2015. Hitherto FAAN has not bought new trucks in 15 years,” the minister wrote.
However, Amadi, the former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) said the N1.2b for a firefighting truck might be a child’s play.
In a series of tweets on Monday, Amadi questioned when the relevant agencies would commence Sirika’s prosecution.
