Married Woman Found Dead in Male Friend’s House in Kano
A married woman and mother of five has been confirmed dead inside a residential apartment in the Sabon Gari area of Kano metropolis.
The deceased, identified as Sandra, was discovered on 11 April 2026 at No. 47 Aitken Road, Sabon Gari. She was said to be from Abia State.
According to a statement from Kano State Police Command, the incident was reported by Chidera Nwobi, who alerted the Sabon Gari Police Division after finding the woman unresponsive inside a room occupied by his neighbour, Lucky Isuma.
Police spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said officers were deployed to the scene immediately after the report. He added that no visible injuries were observed on the body.
The woman was taken to Muhammadu Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed her dead.
Initial accounts from residents suggested she had requested food shortly before the incident, while the male friend linked to the apartment had stepped out. Authorities said this account remains unverified.
Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further inquiry.
The police said investigations are ongoing and findings will be communicated after review.
