Makinde’s 2027 Presidential Posters Flood Part of Kano

Campaign posters promoting Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for the 2027 presidential election have surfaced in parts of Kano State, signaling the early stirrings of a potential candidacy. The posters, bearing the logo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were seen in prominent locations including the former Triumph newspaper printing complex, Dengi flyover, and the bustling Kwanti-Kwari market.

According to the posters, the initiative is being championed by the Nigeria Youths Awareness Group, which on Thursday addressed reporters in Kano. The group’s National Secretary, Alhaji Lawal Abdullahi, said the coalition of youth-led political advocacy groups had united behind Makinde, whom they described as a visionary leader capable of transforming the country.

“We have met as different groups and have agreed to have a common front for the Seyi Makinde for President 2027. We are calling on all lovers of democracy to rally round him irrespective of political affiliations, to enable him sail through,” Abdullahi stated. He emphasized that the movement is a determined effort with nationwide ambition, declaring, “We are a moving train and no stopping us until we achieve our objective of a Seyi Makinde presidency.”

Backing the group’s position, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman noted that Makinde is eminently qualified to contest for any elective office in Nigeria. Similarly, another supporter, Mr. John Ezekiel, remarked that they are waiting for interested aspirants to declare their intentions so the electorate can decide their fate at the polls.

Abdullahi added that extensive consultations have been conducted with notable politicians and respected figures across the country, and claimed the group has secured widespread support. He announced plans for a wider rollout of campaign materials in the coming week, promising that northern states like Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Borno, Yobe, and Gombe would soon witness an intensified presence of the Makinde 2027 campaign. Southern states would follow shortly after.

“We have keenly followed his achievements in Oyo State and discovered that he is a focused administrator, someone who is committed to making lives better. He is the kind of leader we need now in Nigeria,” Abdullahi concluded.
