Majority of Deltans Oppose Governor Oborevwori’s Defection to APC — Political Analyst
A senior political analyst and strategist of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Mr. Steven Agadagba, has stated that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) does not enjoy the support of the majority of Deltans or the core PDP membership.
Speaking in Asaba during a visit to the PDP state secretariat, Agadagba described the governor’s move as one driven by political uncertainty, fear, and self-interest. He stressed that the decision is not representative of the collective will of PDP loyalists or the broader Delta population, many of whom remain deeply committed to the values and vision of the PDP.
According to Agadagba, grassroots members, stakeholders, and ordinary citizens are unsettled by the defection, noting that the PDP has served as a consistent and trusted political platform for development in the state since 1999.
He called on party faithful and supporters to remain calm and resolute, assuring them that the PDP’s structure in Delta remains strong and resilient despite the governor’s departure.
