Lagos Street Sweepers protest, dump uniforms
Several staff of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAMWA), assigned to sweep Lagos roads, have decided to dump their uniforms, thereby quitting their jobs.
This was in a protest against the non payment of three month salaries.
The street sweepers, had for a while now been clamouring for payment of salaries for work done in the last three months.
The have been accusing the Managing Director, Ibrahim Odumboni of insensitivity to their plight and had also called on the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to intervene and facilitate the payment of the outstanding salaries.
In a video, that has gone viral, the workers were seen dumping their uniforms.
