Lagos State Seals RCCG, Celestial Church, Eight Other Facilities for Violating Environmental Laws
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 10 establishments, including two churches, for violating environmental regulations across the state.
This action was disclosed by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account. Wahab stated, “In a decisive step towards tackling noise pollution and other environmental violations, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) today sealed off multiple establishments across various parts of Lagos State.”
The sealed facilities include Redeemed Christian Church of God, Celestial Church of God, Vital Products Limited, A & P Nigeria Limited, Polite Anchorage and Suites, Terrag Inn Apartment, Evening Class Guest House, a printing press, Charley’s Bar, and 7th Heaven Hotel & Suites. These establishments had reportedly ignored several warnings from LASEPA prior to the enforcement action.
The operation, which took place in Ikeja, Mushin, Gbagada, and Maryland, is part of LASEPA’s ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with environmental laws and protect public health.
Wahab reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enforcing these laws, while LASEPA General Manager Babatunde Ajayi called on businesses to recognize their environmental responsibilities and collaborate with the state for a cleaner and more sustainable Lagos.
