Lagos Man Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Wife to Death Over Infidelity Accusation
A tragic domestic incident has shaken the Badagry area of Lagos as police operatives from the Morogbo Division arrested a man identified as Peter Dike for allegedly stabbing his wife to death following a dispute over suspected infidelity.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, the couple, whose relationship had been strained by accusations of unfaithfulness, got into a heated altercation on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. During the confrontation, Dike allegedly reached for a kitchen knife and stabbed his 38-year-old wife in the stomach, leading to her death.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, confirmed the arrest and provided details of the incident. He stated that at about 11:25 a.m. on the day of the crime, a team of detectives on patrol near Oke-Ira Ilogbo Remi received a tip and rushed to the scene. There, they found Dike holding the lifeless body of his wife, covered in blood and crying for help.
Upon confirming the victim had died, officers immediately arrested Dike and took him into custody. The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Badagry General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
During interrogation, Dike reportedly confessed to the crime. Authorities have announced that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti for further investigation.
