Kwara Polytechnic Disowns Alleged Hotelier Murder Suspects

Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has disassociated itself from two female students who were paraded by the police in Abuja on Wednesday, accused of the murder of a hotel manager in the state capital. The institution clarified that these students had long been rusticated from the school due to poor academic performance.

The revelation was made by the Polytechnic’s Public Relations Officer, Halimat Garba, through an official statement released to the press in Ilorin on Thursday afternoon.

The statement, titled “Re: How we killed Club owner in Hotel – Female Student,” asserted that the two individuals, Joseph Joy Adama and Vandora Davies Oreoluwa, who were allegedly involved in the murder, were erroneously identified as students of Kwara State Polytechnic. It clarified their status, saying, “Our database checks showed that the two ladies had since been withdrawn from the school after their first years on account of poor academic performances. They have therefore ceased being students of our great institution.”

The management of Kwara State Polytechnic emphasized its commitment to upholding a positive image for the institution, the state, and Nigeria as a whole. The statement declared, “The Polytechnic Management states categorically that its students are good ambassadors of the institution and will not be involved in shameful or criminal acts of any kind.”

The case took a grim turn when one of the suspects, Adama, revealed during their police parade on Wednesday that she had been in a sexual relationship with the deceased hotelier. On the fateful day, they intended to steal from him, but when he resisted, they drugged him and left with his phone and other valuables, only to later discover that he had tragically lost his life.

To recap, the Nigeria Police Force had apprehended two females, Joseph Joy Adama and Vandora Davies Oreoluwa Favour, on charges of robbery and the murder of a prominent Kwara socialite, Mr. Adeniyi Ojo, who was the Managing Director of Water View Hotel in Ilorin. This shocking case has left the community in disbelief as the investigation continues.
