Kogi Guber Election: ‘We’re Ready for Any Legal Challenge’ – APC Boasts

In the aftermath of the recently concluded gubernatorial poll in Kogi State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) stands undeterred, expressing readiness for potential litigations. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday in Lokoja, Kingsley Fanwo, the Spokesperson/Director of Media and Publicity for the Kogi State APC Governorship Campaign Council, addressed the media.

Fanwo asserted that every vote secured by the APC in Kogi East symbolizes the resilience of voters who faced harassment, injuries, and property damage due to their political beliefs. He commended these individuals as “the true heroes of democracy” and accused those disputing the results of attempting to distract attention from their alleged misdeeds during the election.

Highlighting the perceived desperation of rival candidates, Fanwo criticized claims of irregularities, citing widespread acknowledgment of the election as the “freest and most peaceful” in Kogi State’s history. He dismissed calls for result cancellations, especially from candidates who only claimed victory in their respective zones.

Addressing social media reports of manipulated result sheets favoring the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Fanwo pointed fingers at those with “unclean hands” and expressed confidence in countering such allegations. He hinted at evidence challenging the recorded scores for the SDP candidate, emphasizing the party’s preparedness for any legal challenges.

Fanwo expressed gratitude to voters in Kogi Central for their overwhelming support, noting the massive turnout during campaign rallies as indicative of the APC’s dominance. Acknowledging Kogi West Senatorial District’s contribution, he praised the electorate for prioritizing competence over ethnic considerations.

In conclusion, Fanwo assured the public that the Governor-Elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, would uphold the APC’s commitment to governance, citing Governor Yahaya Bello’s achievements across various sectors as a foundation for continued electoral success in Kogi State.
