JUST IN: UAE Ends Travel Ban on Nigerians

In a landmark announcement, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially lifted the travel restrictions imposed on Nigerian passport holders. This decision follows extensive negotiations between the Nigerian Federal Government and UAE authorities.

The breakthrough was confirmed by Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a press briefing at the State House in Abuja. Minister Idris disclosed that the agreement, which takes immediate effect as of today, July 15, marks the culmination of diplomatic efforts between the two nations.

“Today, an agreement has been reached with the UAE,” stated Minister Idris, “effective immediately, Nigerian passport holders intending to travel to UAE can do so.”

This development comes as a relief to many Nigerians who have been affected by the travel restrictions, which were initially put in place due to concerns over COVID-19 protocols. With this new agreement, travelers from Nigeria can once again plan trips to the UAE without hindrance.

President Bola Tinubu, presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting where the decision was finalized, expressed satisfaction at the resolution of the issue, emphasizing the importance of bilateral relations between Nigeria and the UAE.

The lifting of the travel ban is expected to stimulate economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries, fostering greater cooperation and mutual benefit.

For Nigerian passport holders eager to visit the UAE, this announcement signifies a renewed opportunity to reconnect with family, explore business ventures, and participate in tourism activities across the Emirates.
