JUST IN: Tribunal Ousts Kaduna Governor Uba Sani, Orders Supplementary Election
The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal convened in Kaduna has delivered a stunning verdict, ousting Governor Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a related development, the tribunal has also declared the 2023 governorship election in the state as inconclusive.
This seismic decision was unveiled during a virtual session held via Zoom, as the judges opted to abstain from the physical courtroom. The contentious case was brought before the tribunal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Isah Mohammed Ashiru.
In a split decision, with a tight 2:1 ratio, the tribunal ruled in favor of the PDP, instructing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to organize a supplementary election within the next 90 days. This supplementary election will take place across seven wards spanning four Local Government Areas.
This shocking development has sent political shockwaves throughout Kaduna State, leaving citizens and political observers eagerly awaiting the outcome of the impending supplementary election.
