JUST IN: Tinubu Appoints Adeyemi as New Controller-General of Federal Fire Service
President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS). The announcement was made through the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) and communicated by the Board Secretary, Major General (Rtd.) A. M. Jibril. Adeyemi’s appointment takes effect from August 14, 2025.
His elevation comes as the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, prepares to retire on August 13, 2025, after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.
Adeyemi, a seasoned officer who transferred from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service, has steadily risen through the ranks to his current position as Deputy Controller-General in charge of the Human Resource Directorate. He has completed all required in-service training, command courses, and numerous professional programmes in both Nigeria and abroad.
He is a member and fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
The Board expressed gratitude to the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Olola, for his dedicated service and contributions to the growth and modernization of the Federal Fire Service. His tenure was noted for enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery. In its statement, the Board voiced confidence in Adeyemi’s ability to build on these achievements and lead the Service into a new phase of professionalism and effectiveness.
