In a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor extended condolences on behalf of his family, government, and the people of Bauchi State.

The governor praised Hardawa as a distinguished statesman and an accomplished public servant who made significant contributions to democratic development in Nigeria. He highlighted Hardawa’s integrity, diligence, and fairness throughout his career, particularly during his tenure as Resident Electoral Commissioner and later as BASIEC Chairman, where he was instrumental in promoting transparent and credible electoral processes at the grassroots level.

Governor Mohammed also described him as a man of wisdom, humility, and exemplary leadership whose experience and service would be deeply missed. He extended sympathies to Hardawa’s family, the BASIEC team, associates, and the communities of Hardawa and the Misau Emirate Councils.
