JUST IN: Suspected Boko Haram Terrorists Raid Yobe School, Many Students Feared Dead
Gunmen, believed to be Boko Haram insurgents, have attacked Faudiya School in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State, resulting in the deaths of several students. The school, affiliated with the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), a Shiite group, was targeted early Friday morning.
The assault occurred around 3:44 AM when the attackers invaded the Hausari quarters of Geidam. Reports indicate that the victims were asleep when the gunmen forcibly removed them from their dormitories and opened fire, killing three students and injuring another who is now hospitalized.
The attack has sparked significant alarm within the local community, with residents expressing fear and outrage over the violence. The Yobe State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, has confirmed the incident but provided no further details. Captain Shehu Muhammad from Operation Lafiya Dole Sector 2 Damaturu has promised to update on the situation but has yet to provide additional information.
