In a surprising turn of events, Multichoice, the parent company of Digital Satellite Television (DStv), has confirmed that SuperSport will broadcast the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 on its sports channel, delighting millions of subscribers. Initially, the company had stated that it lacked the rights to air the tournament.
Contrary to the earlier announcement, a reliable source has revealed that SuperSport will indeed showcase AFCON 2023 matches, beginning with the opening game between hosts Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea Bissau scheduled for this Saturday.
The insider disclosed that SuperSport’s broadcasting rights are non-exclusive, making the coverage accessible across various bouquets on both DSTV and GOtv. This development is set to bring joy to football enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the prestigious tournament.
