JUST IN: Speeding Vehicle Crashes into Anambra Market, Many Feared Dead
In a devastating incident on Wednesday, a speeding vehicle lost control and crashed into Oye Agu Market in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. Early reports suggest that an unspecified number of people may have lost their lives, though details remain scarce.
A video circulating on social media reveals the wreckage of the crashed vehicle, believed to be a Sienna, alongside scenes of damaged wares and what appears to be deceased traders. The market, known for its roadside food vendors, was left in disarray with numerous food items, including tomatoes, strewn across the area.
Engr. Ben Okongwu, the President-General of Abagana community, confirmed the tragedy, stating that at least three people have been reported dead. He attributed the crash to the driver’s loss of control.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokesperson for Anambra State, RC Margaret Onabe, has not yet provided any official comment on the incident. Further updates are awaited as the situation develops.
