JUST IN: President Tinubu Reconstitutes Leadership of River Basin Development Authorities (Full List)

 

 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the executive management teams for 12 River Basin Development Authorities under the Federal Ministry of Water Resources. This move reflects the administration’s commitment to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of these critical agencies tasked with sustainable water resource management and agricultural development.

 

The newly appointed leadership teams comprise chairpersons, managing directors, and executive directors overseeing key operational areas such as engineering, agriculture, finance, and planning. Below is a summary of the reconstituted executive teams across the various River Basin Development Authorities:

 

Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Abeokuta

Hon. Odebunmi Olusegun (Chairman, Oyo) and Engr. Dr. Adedeji Ashiru (Managing Director, Osun) lead a team including Ayo Oyalowo (Executive Director, Finance, Oyo) and others from Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo.

 

Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, Yola

Leadership includes Alh. Sanusi Mohammed Babantanko (Chairman, Bauchi) and Samuel Mahmud Mohammed (Managing Director, Taraba), supported by executives from Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, and Bauchi.

 

Chad Basin Development Authority, Maiduguri

This agency is headed by Prof. Abdu Dauda (Chairman, Borno) and Tijjani Musa Tumsa (Managing Director, Yobe), with contributions from executives across Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa.

 

Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority

Key figures include Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo (Chairman, Edo) and Femi Adekanbi (Managing Director, Ondo), supported by appointees from Delta, Ekiti, and Edo.

 

Niger Delta Basin Development Authority

Leadership features Chief (Barr.) Ebikemi Boi Bosin (Chairman, Delta) and Hon. Amgbare Ebitimi (Managing Director, Bayelsa), along with executives from Rivers and Bayelsa.

 

Upper Niger River Basin Development Authority, Minna

Haruna Y. Usman (Chairman, Niger) and Dangajere Shuaibu Bawa Jaja (Managing Director, Kaduna) lead this agency, with representatives from Niger, Kaduna, and the Federal Capital Territory.

 

Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Ilorin

The team includes Alh. Abdullateef Alakawa (Chairman, Kwara) and Engr. George Olumoroti (Managing Director, Kogi), supported by executives from Kwara and Kogi.

 

Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority, Makurdi

Dr. Amos Gizo Yadukso (Chairman, Plateau) and Engr. Ninga Terese (Managing Director, Benue) head this team, alongside representatives from Nasarawa, Kogi, and Benue.

 

Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority, Owerri

This authority is led by Senator Emmanuel Anosike (Chairman, Anambra) and Rt. Hon. Emeka Nduka (Managing Director, Imo), with executives from Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, and Anambra.

 

Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Kano

Leadership includes Mamman Da’u Aliyu (Chairman, Jigawa) and Engr. Rabiu Suleiman Bichi (Managing Director, Kano), supported by appointees from Jigawa, Bauchi, and Kano.

 

Cross River Basin Development Authority

Mr. Wabilly Nyiam (Chairman, Cross River) and Mrs. Glory Ekpo Oho (Managing Director, Akwa Ibom) lead this team, along with representatives from Cross River and Akwa Ibom.

 

Sokoto Rima Basin Development Authority

Hon. Bello Yahaya Wurno (Chairman, Sokoto) and Abubakar Mallam (Managing Director, Kebbi) lead the authority, supported by executives from Zamfara, Katsina, and Sokoto.

 

President Tinubu has charged the newly appointed leaders to leverage their expertise to improve the performance of their respective agencies, aligning with the administration’s vision of enhanced service delivery and socio-economic development.
