JUST IN: House of Representatives Backs State of Emergency in Rivers State via Voice Vote
The House of Representatives has approved President Bola Tinubu’s request to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State. The decision came during Thursday’s plenary session, following a formal letter from the President seeking legislative backing for the declaration in the South-South state.
Speaker Tajudeen Abbass confirmed that 240 lawmakers were present for the session, confirming a quorum. The approval was granted through a voice vote, reflecting overwhelming support among members of the House.
