JUST IN: Gov Fubara to Address State on Expiration of Local Government Chairmen’s Tenures
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, is scheduled to make a statewide broadcast regarding the expiration of the tenure of local government council chairmen and councillors. This address will take place on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 7 AM.
Residents are encouraged to tune in to all radio and television stations to listen to the Governor’s message. The announcement comes amid rising tension and uncertainty as the tenures of the local government officials come to an end.
Nelson Chukwudi, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, issued this notice on Monday, June 17, 2024.
This announcement is critical as it follows recent court rulings and political disputes over the legality of extending the officials’ terms.
