JUST IN: Ekwunife Wins Peter Obi’s Polling Unit for APC – #AnambraDecides
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded a major victory in the ongoing Anambra governorship election, winning the polling unit of Labour Party leader and 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Results announced at Polling Unit 019, Agulu Ward 11, Anaocha Local Government Area, showed that the APC, led by its governorship candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu and his deputy, Uche Ekwunife, secured 73 votes. The Labour Party candidate, George Moghalu, trailed with 57 votes, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) came third with 38 votes.
Peter Obi had earlier voted at the same polling unit, where he also campaigned vigorously for his party’s candidate. The result has drawn widespread attention, considering Obi’s strong political base in Anambra and his commanding performance in the 2023 presidential election, where he won more than 95 percent of votes in the state.
