JUST IN: Court Grants ₦200 Million Bail to Abubakar Malami, Wife, and Son
A Federal High Court in Abuja has approved bail for former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, his wife Asabe Bashir, and their son Abdulaziz Malami.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik set bail at ₦200 million per defendant, with each required to provide two sureties of equivalent value. One of the sureties must present title deeds for properties in Abuja’s Maitama or Asokoro districts.
The court also instructed the Malami family to surrender their international passports. Until all bail conditions are met, the defendants will remain in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The trial has been scheduled to begin on March 16.
