JUST IN: Chief of the Air Staff En Route as NAF Helicopter Crashes in Port Harcourt
A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) MI-35P helicopter crashed in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State. The helicopter was on a mission against economic saboteurs when the unfortunate incident occurred at precisely 7:45 am.
NAF spokesman, Edward Gabkwet, confirmed the crash in an official statement, assuring that all five individuals on board not only survived but also sustained only minor injuries. The crew is currently receiving medical attention at the NAF Medical Centre in Port Harcourt.
Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, is en route to Port Harcourt to assess the situation firsthand, ensure the wellbeing of the crew, and provide further directives. The incident is under investigation, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
