JUST IN: Again, Activist VeryDarkMan Detained After Honoring Police Invitation
Nigerian activist and social media personality, VeryDarkMan, has been detained by the Nigerian Police following his appearance at a police station on Thursday. The incident arises from a recent video where he appeared wearing a police uniform without authorization, sparking legal concerns and public debate over his actions.
The police initially reached out to VeryDarkMan, requesting his presence for questioning regarding the unauthorized use of the uniform. He voluntarily complied with the request, appearing at the station to address the matter. Despite his cooperation, the activist was subsequently detained, according to his legal counsel.
Earlier today, VeryDarkMan took to social media to issue a public apology. In his statement, he expressed regret for any misunderstanding or offense his actions may have caused, explaining that his intent was to portray the police force positively.
VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, Barrister Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the detention on social media platform X, tweeting, “Our client, VDM, has been detained after honoring the police invitation. VDM has consistently expressed that the Nigerian Police are our friends, even though we all know they are not.
