°As he hints on a strategic plan to strengthen security in Anambra South
The frontline aspirant for the Anambra South Senatorial District bye-election under the platform of Labour Party, Barr. Donald Amamgbo has highlighted job creation as a critical solution to curbing the rising tide of insecurity in the state. Reacting to the growing wave of crime in Anambra State, Amamgbo emphasized that non-kinetic measures, such as providing employment opportunities, hold immense potential in addressing the root causes of criminality and ensuring long-term peace.
Amamgbo, a seasoned lawyer and advocate for inclusive development, expressed confidence in his comprehensive security master plan, which he believes will significantly mitigate the worrisome trend of insecurity in the constituency. Speaking about his approach, he disclosed his intent to adopt a proactive, legislative-driven framework that leverages existing policies while advocating for new ones to create an enabling environment for economic growth and security.
Acknowledging the multifaceted nature of the security challenge, Amamgbo called for institutional collaboration and consultations with key stakeholders, including government authorities, traditional rulers, and religious leaders. He stressed the importance of these partnerships in ensuring the safety of citizens, fostering development, and promoting social harmony during the festive season and beyond.
“Security of life and property is non-negotiable,” Amamgbo stated. “As we approach Christmas and New Year, it is imperative for everyone to contribute their quota toward maintaining peace and order. I urge the good people of Anambra South to embrace productive engagements and shun criminal activities, no matter the economic hardship.”
The Labour Party candidate underscored the importance of advocacy, promising to champion policies that create jobs and uplift the standard of living for the people. “We shall fight insecurity to a standstill by prioritizing employment, leveraging advocacy, and initiating impactful policies throughout our administration,” he said.
Amamgbo’s vision extends beyond tackling insecurity, as he believes that addressing unemployment will catalyze the overall socio-economic development of the constituency. He urged voters in Anambra South to rally behind his people-oriented aspiration, assuring them that his leadership would bring meaningful change, restore hope, and deliver sustainable progress to Anambra South.
