Israeli Protests Surge as Gaza Conflict Drags On: Thousands Demand Netanyahu’s Resignation

Tens of thousands of Israelis flooded the streets in protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid the ongoing military offensive in Gaza, which has now persisted for six months.

Organizers estimated that approximately 100,000 demonstrators amassed at the iconic Tel Aviv crossroads, now dubbed Democracy Square, brandishing signs demanding “elections now” and echoing calls for Netanyahu’s immediate resignation.

As the conflict in Gaza inches toward its seventh month, rallies reverberated across different cities, with notable participation from Israel’s opposition leader, Yair Lapid, who joined a gathering in Kfar Saba. Lapid sharply criticized the government, declaring, “They haven’t learned anything, they haven’t changed. Until we send them home, they won’t give this country a chance to move forward.”

However, the protests were not without turmoil. Reports emerged of clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement in the capital, with police confirming the arrest of at least one protester amidst the tense atmosphere.
