Iran Accepts Trump-Brokered Ceasefire, Praises Armed Forces — Israel Silent
Iran has signaled acceptance of a ceasefire deal brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, following days of escalating conflict with Israel. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a notable shift from earlier statements, expressed gratitude to Iran’s Armed Forces for defending the nation and indicated an end to military operations at 4 a.m. local time — the time Trump had earlier stated the ceasefire would take effect.
Araghchi initially rejected reports of a ceasefire, demanding Israel first halt its aggression. But in a later statement, he praised Iranian forces for their sustained response, saying, “The military operations of our powerful Armed Forces to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute, at 4 am.”
He added, “Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave Armed Forces who remain ready to defend our dear country until their last drop of blood, and who responded to any attack by the enemy until the very last minute.”
Despite the U.S. announcement of a ceasefire, Israel has yet to issue an official response. Reports from Iranian state media claim Israeli military activity continued even after the stated ceasefire time, raising questions about the stability of the truce.
