IPOB sit at Home order: Enforcers go brutal
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had declared a “Sit at home” order in all states in the South Eastern part of Nigeria in protest against the incarceration of its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The group in a released statement had said that “From Monday 9th August, Biafra land will be on lockdown every Monday from 6am-6pm, until our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who was unlawfully abducted in Kenya by the Federal Government of Nigeria is released”.
Reports have it that, the protest was successfully carried out in the respective states, but there were however clashes in some areas.
4persons were reported shot dead in Orlu, while 2 persons were allegedly shot in a clash with soldiers in Nnewi.
In a video that has since gone viral, some enforcers were seen moving round a street in one of the states, dealing brutally with persons who did not comply with the order.
