Insecurity: Gunmen Abduct Catholic Priest, 3 Others In Ebonyi
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a Catholic priest of Abakaliki Diocese, Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Joseph Azubuike.
The Reverend Father is the parish priest of St. Charles Parish, Mgbaleze Isu, in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
He was reportedly kidnapped Monday, alongside three other persons whose names could not be ascertained.
Chancellor of the Diocese, Reverend Father Mathew Opoke confirmed the incident in a statement, noting that the cleric was kidnapped close to his parish on his way back from pastoral duties.
“The abductors are making financial demands but with prayers, we will get them back unconditionally”, the statement reads in part.
But Police authorities in the state are yet to comment on the incident.
