INEC Reacts to Allegations of Withdrawing Result Upload Passwords in Imo State Elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted claims of withdrawing passwords from some local government supervisors in Imo State, clarifying that the passwords for result uploads have been duly released to the Presiding Officers.
Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, denounced the allegations made by unidentified concerned workers, stating that the purported withdrawal of passwords from APO1s was entirely false.
In a released statement on Friday, Oyekanmi emphasized, “For the avoidance of doubt, Presiding Officers (POs), and not APO1s, are responsible for result upload to the IReV. All the passwords have been securely released for use by designated officials in line with the commission’s procedure.”
He cautioned the public to expect further unfounded claims before, during, and after the elections, advising them to dismiss such insinuations.
