‘I’m Now an Upcoming Artiste’ – 2Baba
In a recent statement on his Instagram page, renowned Nigerian singer Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, voiced his lamentations about feeling relegated to the status of an “upcoming artist” amidst the flourishing success of younger musicians.
While acknowledging the accomplishments of these emerging talents, especially in the vibrant Nigerian music scene, the ‘African Queen’ crooner expressed his determination to reclaim the spotlight in the upcoming year. In his post, 2Baba hinted at an imminent release of new music, affirming his commitment to make a resounding comeback.
“Mennn! These new cats are not smiling o. I don turn to upcoming artist o. Chai! But as dem talk am, we no go gree for anybody this year. Na kitchen [studio] I dey lai dis,” he wrote, suggesting a renewed focus on his musical craft and a promise to captivate audiences with fresh sounds in the months ahead.
