2Baba Apologises for Saying Men Are Not Built to Be with One Woman

Nigerian music legend 2Baba has issued a heartfelt apology following backlash over comments he made suggesting that men are not biologically wired to be sexually faithful to one woman. The remarks, made during his appearance on the *234 Mzansi* podcast with host Nedu Wazobia, sparked widespread criticism online and drew attention to his recent separation from longtime partner Annie Macaulay.

Speaking candidly on the podcast, 2Baba, 49, discussed the end of his marriage to Annie, 40, saying both had done their best to save the relationship before ultimately deciding to part ways. He went on to argue that while men can love and respect one woman, it is often difficult to remain sexually exclusive due to what he described as “natural biology.” The comment was met with heavy backlash across social media, prompting the veteran singer to post an apology video on Instagram.

In the video shared Tuesday evening, 2Baba admitted his comments were “poorly expressed” and extended an apology to his wife Natasha Osawaru, as well as his children. “She’s amazing. She’s wonderful. She’s smart… I’m so sorry,” he said of Natasha. “And also to my kids… they’re beautiful young people. I don’t deserve this kind of thing that I have to deal with. This is not me… I’m terribly sorry for allowing myself to get to that place. I own up to my mistakes.”

2Baba and Annie, who married in May 2012, officially separated in January 2025. The singer has since confirmed a new relationship with Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, to whom he proposed in February.
