Ifeanyi Ubah Declares 2025 Anambra Governorship Bid, Pledges Commitment to One Term

Ifeanyi Ubah, the senator representing Anambra South, has officially launched his gubernatorial campaign for the 2025 elections, appealing for the support of the people in his quest for the governorship seat.

Having secured the fourth position in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, which saw Chukwuma Soludo emerge as the winner, Ubah is determined to make a significant impact this time around.

Addressing journalists in Nnewi on Sunday, Ubah expressed his dissatisfaction with the recent suspension of Damian Ezeani, a traditional ruler, by Governor Soludo for conferring a chieftaincy title on him. Ubah deemed the move unacceptable, stating, “Thank God it has been reversed without an apology to me.”

If elected, Ubah pledged to conduct a local government area election within four months, emphasizing the importance of encouraging political participation and autonomy at the grassroots level. “All I ask for is one term of four years,” he declared.

Critiquing the governance of Anambra over the past 18 years, Ubah rated it at 20 percent and promised to bring an 80 percent content that has never been discussed in governance. He highlighted his commitment to supporting commerce, developing the health sector into a hub for health tourists, and accelerating community development through timely local government elections.

Ubah urged voters to prioritize passion and track record over inflated personalities and structures, emphasizing his readiness to change the narrative. “I am prepared to change the narrative, and that is why my manifesto has remained the same from 2013 till date,” he affirmed.
