APC Convention: FG Closes Roads Around Secretariat, Orders Civil Servants to Stay Home
The Federal Government has directed civil servants working within the Federal Secretariat in Abuja to work remotely on Friday, March 27, 2026, in preparation for the national convention of the All Progressives Congress.
The directive was issued in a circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
According to the circular, access roads leading to and around the Federal Secretariat Complex—Phases I, II, and III—will be closed from Friday, March 27, to Saturday, March 28. The closure is linked to the use of Eagle Square as the venue for the party’s convention.
The government stated that all personnel with offices in the affected areas, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are required to stay off-site and carry out their duties from home for the day.
Heads of ministries, departments, and agencies have also been instructed to ensure full compliance with the directive.
The APC convention is expected to attract party leaders, delegates, and supporters from across the country, prompting traffic restrictions and security measures in central Abuja.
