Maverick singer Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has stirred up headlines with a dramatic vow linked to the upcoming US presidential election. The outspoken artist has declared he will divorce his wife of 47 years if Kamala Harris fails to secure the presidency.
Following President Joe Biden’s recent announcement that he will step down as the Democratic Party candidate, endorsing Harris as his successor, Charly Boy took to social media to express his fervent support for the Vice President. He argues that after the election of the first Black male President, Barack Obama, America deserves to see its first Black female President.

Despite Biden’s endorsement, Kamala Harris has yet to be officially nominated as the Democratic Party’s candidate. As of now, Harris has secured over a quarter of the delegates required for the Democratic nomination, according to The Hill.
