“I stole a sacred item from the Pope and gave it to my mother,” says Jenny McCarthy
Jenny McCarthy has confessed to stealing a sacred item from Pope Francis during a trip to Italy. The 51-year-old TV personality, known for her role on “The Masked Singer,” made the admission on the “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” podcast.
Raised in a devout Catholic family, McCarthy disclosed that she took a cross from the Vatican and gifted it to her mother. “I stole a cross from the Vatican and gave it to my mother,” McCarthy told host Kelly Ripa. “My mom’s like, ‘You know, this is not okay.’”
However, McCarthy clarified that she didn’t personally steal the cross but that it was taken by one of her friends during a visit to the Pope’s apartment in Vatican City. Despite the controversy, McCarthy noted that her mother, Linda, still displays the cross prominently in her home. “She still has it on the wall, though, so I feel like it was — it’s in good hands,” McCarthy said.
