Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has said he has never in his life met with or had no dealings with Babafemi Ojudu,
Babafemi Ojodu, an All Progressives Congress’ (APC) chieftain, who also is the Special Adviser on Political Matters to the President Muhammadu Buhari had in a piece which he titled “The Sunday Ighoho, I knew” recalled his relationship with Sunday Igboho.
Ojudu, had in the piece alleged that opposition politicians had contracted Igboho to disrupt the 2009 Rerun Governorship Election in Ekiti State.
He had claimed that he and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, met with Igboho to disrupt the plan and that Sunday had agreed to stay off the election having being “handsomely” settled.
In a rebuttal, while speaking with journalists who visited him following a fire incident at one his buildings in Ibadan, Oyo State, Igboho said he has never had any dealings with Ojudu, stating that Ojodu is a liar and needs very serious psychiatric attention.
He said, “I have been hearing reports about a man called Femi Ojudu. I don’t know this man. He said the late Chief (Lamidi) Adedibu contracted me in 2009 and we all know that Adedibu died in 2008. I think the man should undergo a mental test because the late Chief Adedibu did not train me for any job and I was not close to the late Adedibu”.
“I only had a relationship with my political father, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, and I never betrayed him in all the years I was with him”.
Sunday Igboho said “no politician is bankrolling me, it is the love I have for my people that led to issuance and enforcement of the vacation order to the Fulani herdsmen who were accused of perpetrating crimes in Igangan, Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State.
He further said, “Politicians are now politicising the herdsmen issue to tarnish my image so as to weaken me”.
He reiterated that “Any politician who knows he paid me money to do all that I am doing should come out openly before the whole world to say so.”
“I am only concerned about the need for peace to reign in the land of my forefathers.”
Igboho further said it was disappointing that some Yoruba indigenes have started supporting the Fulani herdsmen to launch attacks against him but said he until all Fulani herdsmen are seen to have vacated the lands in every part of the SouthWest, that is when there won’t be issues.
He said “The Fulani herdsmen have been killing, kidnapping and raping the people (of Igangan) but no government came to their rescue until my intervention. I owe the people a duty because I hail from the town, I even have the tribal mark of the people.”
