“I Don’t Know How to Pretend; Being a Nollywood Actor in Governance Isn’t for Me” – El-Rufai

 

 

Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has made it clear that he does not engage in political pretense, declaring that being a “Nollywood actor” in governance is not for him. His remarks, shared on social media platform X on Saturday, were in response to a post commending his direct approach to leadership.

 

“Truly, I don’t know how to pretend. Being a Nollywood actor in governance is for some others, not some of us,” el-Rufai wrote.

 

His comments come amid ongoing tensions between him and members of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. El-Rufai has openly criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that the party has strayed from its foundational principles and no longer reflects what it once stood for.

 

His stance has sparked reactions, including from Daniel Bwala, a presidential aide, who suggested that el-Rufai’s position might have been different if he were part of Tinubu’s cabinet. However, the former governor dismissed the claim, maintaining that his criticism of the APC would remain unchanged regardless of his role in government.
