How They Plan to Rig the 2027 Elections – PDP Spokesman Reveals
The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ini Ememobong, has warned that plans are already underway to manipulate the 2027 general elections.
In an interview with Arise Television on Thursday, Ememobong claimed that individuals, in collaboration with certain officials in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), could reuse serial numbers from election result forms, known as EC8A, to falsify outcomes.
He also highlighted low voter turnout in the previous election, noting that only 26% of registered voters participated. Ememobong said that voting reflects citizens’ confidence—or lack thereof—in the electoral system.
“The concern with electronic transmission of results stems from the potential for collusion with some INEC officials, who could duplicate EC8A serial numbers. This could result in multiple versions of result sheets,” he explained.
He described a scenario in which accreditation figures recorded by the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) could be used to generate fraudulent results manually at private locations before submission, a practice he said has occurred in the past.
Ememobong’s warning underscores ongoing concerns about election integrity and the need for transparency in the lead-up to 2027.
